The story behind Johnny Johnson
Led by Kurt Weill scholar Tim Carter, this multi-media concert will explore the history of Kurt Weill and Paul Green’s 1936 Operetta Johnny Johnson. The lecture will trace Weill’s journey from the stages of Europe to the United States and ultimately his collaboration with Pulitzer Prize winning American playwright Paul Green. The concert will feature songs from various Kurt Weill shows accompanied by images of both Weill and Paul Green. Alison Kelly, Gerald Frantzen, Mary Lutz-Govertson and William Dwyer will be the featured singers. Anatolyi Torchinskyi will play piano.
